Redeem Team Destroys Germany 106-57, Go 5-0



This game was over early, period. USA went on a 20-3 run to start the game. Dwight Howard had 8 of those points while LeBron James followed with 7 points in a in a 31-12 first quarter. Germany's Dirk Nowitzki scored 6 of his 14 points in the 2nd quarter, but that wouldn't even help when Deron Williams scored 7 points, part of a 14-0 run carrying over from the end of the 1st quarter.

After leading 53-29 at the half, Kobe Bryant was hot from downtown, hitting three straight from beyond the arc. Howard continued to dominate down low. He finished

In the 4th quarter, Germany would only go on to score 11 points as Chris Bosh would help jumpstart the quarter with 7 points in the quarter. In fact, USA would go on a 19-4 run to close out the game, ending with a Chris Paul alley-oop to Michael Redd, a guy who only dunked 3 times last season.

The aftermath, USA outscored Germany 53-29 in the 1st half and 53-27 in the 2nd half. Germany's 57 points is the lowest point total to date in these Olympics. LeBron James did extremely well with 18 points in 18 minutes. USA had 20 assists compared to Germany's nine.

Now USA is heading to the medal round to face Austalia, who thinks they can beat USA. In an interview with Craig Sager on USA, LeBron responded to their challenge and said, "If they believe that they can beat us, it's going to be a good one."

Chris Kaman begs to differ with the Aussies. "Nobody is going to beat them," Kaman said. "No way, it's just not going to happen."
